Welcome to first grade!  My name is Melinda Mason and I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year!  I am so happy to be a part of the Hillside family. This is my second year teaching at Hillside and my fourth year teaching.  

I graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a degree in Marketing.  I went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey.  After years in digital marketing, I discovered my love for teaching and began with three years as a preschool teacher.  I returned to Ramapo College once again to earn my Teaching Certification. Over the last four years, I taught fourth and second grades in Bergen County. I believe that every student comes to school with different ideas, concerns, strengths and weaknesses.  It is my job as an educator to foster those ideas, ease those concerns, encourage those strengths and overcome those weaknesses. Together as a team, we can make this an amazing year for every student.
