We are choosing and reading Just Right books. We stop and jot about our reading. We are examining the elements of fiction stories: characters, setting, problem, solution, lesson learned, and retelling the most important parts.
Writing
We are generating ideas and beginning to write personal narratives. We are examining the features of personal narratives and using them in our writing.
Science
We are studying matter. The focus is on solids, liquids and gases. We are experimenting with mixing liquids and solids, and liquids with other liquids. We are learning about how matter changes and the properties of different kinds of matter through hands on activities.
Math
We are establishing routines in our math program. We are discovering patterns in numbers using number lines and number grids. Keep practicing math facts for automaticity.
