Fourth grade students in Ms. Graves' room are studying the properties of waves and how energy is transferred via waves that are seen and unseen. We built a model with Mr. Dubuque using kebab skewers, duct tape, and gummy bears to simulate how a wave moves. Some of the vocabulary the students are using include: amplitude, wavelength, frequency, crest and trough. Students are asking great questions, like "Would we still hear things or see things if there were no waves?"
