Tuesday is a celebratory day in our construction projects as it will be the day of the "Topping Off Ceremony". Tuesday at 4pm, the final beam (which is painted white and decorated with a cute Hosmer Husky) will be hoisted to the top of the building. If you would like to watch, you can do so from Mt. Auburn St.
On top of the beam, there will be an American flag and a small tree. The tree is a long-standing tradition that symbolizes a number of things: joy that the building has been built to its highest point, hope that the building will be long utilized and full of life, and celebration that a phase of construction has been completed safely.
If members of your family would like to sign the beam, please come to the lot on the corner of Boylston and Mt. Auburn Streets on Monday between 12:30 and 1:30pm.
