The Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District Board of Education Facilities Meeting held Thursday, March 28, 2019 was called to order at 5:00pm by Mrs. Ricci.
PRESENT: Marcia Ricci, Carolyn Bell, Tammi Dehler, Jamie Maloney, Jack Catanzarita
ALSO PRESENT: Patrick Pomerville, Carol Lyon, Mari Cecil, BCA, Jeff McKenna, BCA Taylor Woolf, BCA, Vince Popolizio, Joseph Siracuse, Paul Galarneau, Ryan Hardy
Mr. Pomerville welcomed everyone and noted that this workshop was to begin thinking about the potential for a new capital project. Mari Cecil, BCA, began the meeting with a review of the past Phase 1 Capital Project.
The goal of the meeting was to walk-through the current 5-year plan line by line to refresh everyone’s understanding of the current state of the facility and all the items that need to be addressed as well as to begin formulating priorities to be addressed in a new capital project.
Discussion then focused on various potential priorities for a future project.
• Adding pre-school classrooms
• Renovating the high school gym and locker rooms.
• Renovating the technology and art wing
• Renovating high school classroom curtain walls and classrooms
• Site work outside with new soccer filed and track
Patrick will draft some samples of straw polls for review by the facilities committee. The facilities committee will meet after the vote to review the results of the straw poll and continue planning based on information received.
The facilities committee would like to tour the building to gain insight into all areas. The next facilities meeting is set for May 23rd at 5:00pm.
On motion by Mrs. Dehler, seconded by Mrs. Maloney and by a vote of 5 - 0 the Board adjourned at 7:15pm.
