Cassandra Suggs, English Language Learners teacher at Washington High School and author of self-esteem books, spoke to all eighth-grade students at Washington Middle school on Thursday, Jan. 10.
The topic was “Getting Along and Growing Together.”
The eighth-grade students were familiar with Suggs’ work, previously reading a chapter from one of her books, “Becoming Myself.”
Suggs spoke to the students about treating others with respect and the way they want to be treated themselves.
The 40-minute presentation included games and activities as well.
