Washington High School’s National Honor Society induction ceremony was held on Monday, April 22, at the CJB Theatre.
The guest speaker was Bob Oreskovic, a School District of Washington Board of Education member and the father of two WHS students. He holds an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Wisconsin, a Master’s degree in business from Golden Gate University, and a Master’s degree in strategic studies from the Army War College. He moved to Washington in 2014 after he retired from the Army at the rank of Colonel after 27 years on active duty.
WHS Principal Dr. Eric Turner spoke during the event, giving the opening and closing remarks.
National Honor Society officers were recognized and played a role in the ceremony; Emelia Narup (President), Kendra Bliss, (Vice President), Carter Hall (Secretary), Ben Oesterly (Treasurer), Mia Mahon (Historian) and Ava Kauffeld (Student Council Representative).
Current National Honor Society members were recognized followed by the induction of the new members.
