The School District of Washington’s Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the district office at 7 p.m.
Among the items on the agenda are:
*Student Representative Report: Sophie Koritz, Student Representative, will share her report with the Board of Education.
*MSBA Fall Conference: The MSBA Fall Conference will be held Sept. 27-30 at Tan-Tar-A. Our District was asked to present at a breakout session in connection with our Outstanding Board of Education award on Teaching, Learning, and Assessment. Board members and educational leaders will attend the conference to connect, learn, and engage with others from across the state.
*Building Level Report – Campbellton Elementary: Jennifer Meyer, Principal at Campbellton Elementary, will share building goals and initiatives, and provide an update on the BUILD Academy.
*Strategic Planning Team Update: The Strategic Planning Team met on Sept. 19 at Four Rivers Career Center. The team divided up into three groups and rotated through three of our focus areas; Achievement, Health and Well-being, and Partnerships, and met as an entire group to review
information for Focus Area - Safety. Facilitators shared what their implementation teams have developed to date. Strategic Planning Team members had the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
*MAP Data and APR Update: Assistant Superintendent Dr. Judy Straatmann will share information with the Board of Education on why we will be getting our District MAP data later this year than in years past.
*MSBA 2018B Policy Update - Second Reading: The MSBA 2018B Policy Update is being presented for a second reading. This update is based on changes in state and federal laws and requirements and recommendations from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
