A busy week for the Washington High School varsity volleyball team included a home match against Francis Howell Central on Wednesday, September 8.
The match was close all the way with Howell Central emerging with a four-set victory, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21.
The Lady Jays were coming off a five-set win at Pacific on Tuesday, September 7, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.
Washington has just two seniors this season, Ingrid Figas and Sophie Nieder. There are eight juniors and three sophomores.
Juniors are Jessie Tovo, Gracie Meyer, Chloe Holtmeyer, Taylor Hoelscher, Ella Kroeter, Alexis Barks, Emma Briggs and Jora Weaver. Sophomores are Jillian Huellinghoff, Abigail Gilliat and Kiera Pelster.
Lindsay Moritz is the head coach and is assisted by JB Giesike, Olivia Strode and Melissa Holtmeyer.
