Washington High School Swimmer Ava Kauffeld Named Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week
Washington High School swimmer Ava Kauffeld is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Kauffeld, a sophomore, captured gold medals in all four events she competed in during the GAC Swimming Championships. She won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke and was a member of the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Kauffeld currently holds records in the 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 IM and as a member of the 200 free and 200 medley relays.
“Ava has continued to improve all season long while remaining humble about her accomplishments,” said Washington Girls Swim Coach Tracy Moreland. “She is quick to help other team members, encouraging all to achieve their best.”
