Playing a home dual boys golf match against Warrenton at Wolf Hollow Golf Club, the Washington High School varsity and junior varsity teams both posted victories on Monday, April 19.
The varsity Blue Jays, coached by Tim Buschmann, defeated Warrenton by the score of 165-191 while Washington’s junior varsity team won, 215-230.
Varsity
Leading the varsity Blue Jays was freshman Alex Fregalette, who cared a one-under par round of 34 over nine holes. Brennan Strubberg, a senior, posted a two-over par round of 37.
Other varsity players for Washington in the match were sophomore Jake Rhodes and freshman Jackson Straatmann, who both fired scores of 47, and sophomore Haiden Bean, who posted a 48.
Junior Varsity
Brian Brinkmann, a sophomore, led the junior varsity Blue Jays in the match with a nine-hole round of 50.
Also playing for Washington were senior Cole Nahlik and sophomore Brayden McColloch, who both carded scores of 54, senior Carter Kleekamp with 57, freshman Landon Lozano with 58, sophomore Tanner Schwoeppe and freshman Eric Briggs.
