Washington High School swimmer Ellie Williams is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Williams, a senior, helped Washington to a second-place finish at the GAC North-Central meet on Thursday, February 3.
Williams was a member of both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams that set new school records in times of 1:47.45 (200 Free) and 3:56.24 (400 Free) to claim first-place honors. Also on those teams were Zoey Ziegler, Maddy Henderson and Ava Kauffeld.
Williams also placed third in the 50 freestyle race with a new personal record time of 26.89, which was good enough for her first ever state consideration time. She also was third in the 100 Free with a new personal record time of 58.57. That also was a state consideration time.
Williams also is a member of the WHS cheerleading team.
