On the afternoon of Thursday, April 9, Missouri Governor Mike Parson ordered that all Missouri public and charter schools remain closed through the rest of the academic year.
The order is being made in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and several school superintendents from across the state, Parson said in a statement.
Schools should continue remote learning for their students until the end date previously set on their academic calendars, Parson said.
The last day for the School District of Washington was scheduled for May 21.
The SDOW will be communicating more information about Alternative Methods of Instruction, meals and other items in the coming days.
