Octavio Meza Named Mr. WHS; Proceeds Donated to American Cancer Society
The Washington High School Student Council and Leadership co-sponsored the 25th Annual Mr. WHS contest on Thursday, May 13, in the Blue Jay Gymnasium at Washington High School.
Over $1,000 in proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in addition to the $15,000 raised by the Jordan Scheer Memorial Children's Relay for Life earlier this year.
Octavio Meza, a junior, was named Mr. WHS.
First runner-up was senior Dylan Pape. Second runner-up was senior Conner Maher. Mr. Congeniality was junior Joey Avitia.
The Mr. WHS contestants were Owen Bartlett, Korey Jarrell, Dylan Pape, Conner Maher, Joey Avitia, Octavio Meza, Brennan Deckard, Matthew Freitag and Blake Ford.
The Program Chairs of the event were Grace Bryson, Randi Jenkins, Natalie Oesterly and Ava Kelly.
The judges were WHS graduates Jaden Heien, McKenzie Dohm and Anna Schneider.
