Board of Education: Freitag, Blackburn Sworn Into Office; Freitag Remains President
The School District of Washington’s Board of Education held a reorganization meeting Friday morning, April 16, at the Technology and Learning Center.
Incumbents John Freitag and Kevin Blackburn were sworn into office after claiming the two open seats in the April 6 election.
Blackburn begins his fourth term on the Board after first being elected in 2012. Freitag begins his third term after first being elected in 2015. Board members are elected to three-year terms.
John Freitag remains the president of the Board of Education, as voted on by Board members. Jason Oesterly remains the vice president.
Other members of the Board of Education are Scott Byrne, Susan Thatcher, Matt Wilson and Dan Leslie.
Julie Bell is the secretary to the Board and the custodian of records. Robin Kluesner is the Board treasurer.
