Sam Stewart Named Mr. WHS; Proceeds Donated to American Cancer Society
The Washington High School Student Council and Leadership co-sponsored the 26th Annual Mr. WHS contest, “Blast from The Past,” on Friday, March 4, in the CJB Auditorium at Washington High School.
Contestants participated in different competitions as well as perform dances for the judges and audience.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Jordan Scheer Children’s Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. This year’s event raised $2,340.
Sam Stewart, a senior, was named Mr. WHS.
First runner-up was freshman Brock Thompson. Tied for Second Runners-Up were juniors Matthew Freitag and Kellen Schiermeier. Mr. Congeniality was junior Hunter Sederwall.
The Mr. WHS contestants were Aaron Brinkmann, Sam Stewart, Will Lingle, Hunter Sederwall, Octavio Meza, Matthew Freitag, Brock Thompson, Kellen Schiermeier, Christian Gudmundson, Cooper Thiemann, Jack Trentmann, Isaac Burr and Connor Smith.
The Program Chairs of the event were Lydia Maune, Maddie Grimes, Ava Kelly and Natalie Oesterly.
The judges were School District of Washington staff members Becky Zanin, Laura Bruckerhoff and Logan Schamerloh and retired SDOW staff member Patty Thornton.
