Students in Keith Thacker’s first-grade class at Campbellton Elementary recently made a donation to the Team Kaden Foundation from a lemonade stand they created.
The students held a lemonade stand every Thursday for several weeks at Campbellton, which staff and students had the opportunity to purchase.
The class decided to donate the money from the lemonade stand, $432.15, to the Team Kaden Foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer.
Kaden Keller was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2009 when he was 7 years old and in first grade in the Sullivan School District. He endured three years of treatment and after only three months of completing his treatment, he relapsed in January of 2013. Then before he could complete his treatment, he relapsed again in June of 2014. Kaden passed away three months later on September 9, 2014.
Kaden’s mother, Elizabeth Keller, is the founder and president of the Team Kaden Foundation. She was on hand at Campbellton Elementary to accept the donation.
