The Washington High School varsity girls soccer team competed in the Blue Cat Tournament April 25-29. The tournament was hosted by Washington High School and Union High School.
Washington (7-8) went 1-2 in the tournament, dropping the third-place match to Union, 4-0, on Friday, April 29.
The Lady Jays, coached by Adam Fischer, opened the event with a 3-1 loss to Rock Bridge on Monday, April 25, but bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Borgia on Thursday, April 28.
Avery Lanemann scored Washington’s lone goal against Rock Bridge. Brianna Hellmann Sainz was the goalie.
In the win over Borgia, Presley Kiser and Brooke Owens scored goals for the Lady Jays. Hellmann Sainz recorded the shutout in goal.
