On Thursday, April 11, the old Highway 47 Missouri River Bridge in Washington will implode at 10:30 a.m. The new bridge and roads leading to it (from Augusta bottom to Fifth Street) will be closed at 10:15 a.m. and could be closed for up to two hours following the implosion.
The School District of Washington will make accommodations for our traveling teachers during those times and will not have A+ tutors travel on Thursday if they take that route.
Students, shuttle buses, and parents who need to enter Washington High School or Middle School during that time will need to do so from the Jefferson Street side because traffic could back up rather significantly for a period of time.
The public will be able to watch the demolition at the public viewing area at Rennick Riverfront Park in downtown Washington. That will be the only public viewing area.

The implosion will be streamed live on the MoDOT St. Louis Facebook page.
