Jordan Scheer Children's Relay for Life Scheduled for April 26; Registration Deadline March 8
The 19th Annual Jordan Scheer Memorial Children’s Relay for Life is scheduled for Friday, April 26, at Scanlan Stadium on the Washington High School campus from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is “Finding a Cure Would Be Sweet!”
The event is put together by the Washington High School student council and leadership class. Proceeds are donated to the Franklin County Relay for Life and benefit the American Cancer Society and cancer awareness.
Event chairs are seniors Madison Moore, Ava Kauffeld and Brynne Pearcy, and juniors Josie Kluesner, Cooper Guss and Luke Mauchenheimer.
The relay is named in honor of Jordan Scheer, a WHS graduate who lost his battle to cancer shortly after his graduation in 2005.
Third through sixth grade children from area schools will participate in the event. They must have already registered to attend.
Students are encouraged to fundraise for the event and participate in the poster/essay contest.
Details are on the website and on the flyer that was sent home.
