Washington High School boys soccer had its home opener on Monday, Sept. 14, against perennial power and GAC Central rival Ft. Zumwalt South.
The Blue Jays dropped the varsity game to South, 4-2, and the junior varsity game, 3-0.
It was the closest varsity game that Zumwalt South (6-0, 4-0) has had so far this season.
Timothy Boehlein and Cole Click scored goals for the Blue Jays. Luke Johnson had an assist.
Caden Robertson was in goal for the Blue Jays, making many big saves during the contest.
Washington (3-4, 0-2) placed third at the Pacific Tournament Sept. 9-11, defeating Fox in the third-place contest, 2-0.
Travis Bieg and Click scored goals for the Blue Jays while Boehlein and Click both had an assist. Robertson registered the shutout in goal.

Players on the junior varsity roster are Isaac Lough, Kaner Young, Isaac Agren, Alex Connor, Glenn Sander, Jacob Brown, Luke Spence, Jay Hoemann, Vincent Cooper, Parker Kelpe, Will Kelpe, Logan Heather, Alex Fregalette, Nolan Kimminau, Weston Hewlett, Kaden Wenda, William Amlong, Marcus Brown and Evan Williams.
Washington is coached by Derek Schriewer and Brian Dougherty.
