Pride of Washington Places First in Prelims, Second in Finals at Ft. Zumwalt North Festival
Washington High School’s Marching Band, The Pride of Washington, took a major stride at the Fort Zumwalt North Marching Festival on Saturday, October 14.
The FZN Festival is one of the most competitive events in the St. Louis area with Missouri powerhouses Camdenton and Lindbergh in attendance. The Pride of Washington made program history by placing first in their class and taking two captions (Visual and General Effect) over Camdenton. They placed first overall in prelims, topping both Camdenton and Lindbergh with an 80.550.
The Pride fought through adversity during their finals performance due to a sound equipment glitch and finished second overall, missing first place by .20. The Pride did take the caption of top visual.
This Friday, October 20, will be the last home football game of the Pride’s performance before they are off to the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional of 66 competing bands on Saturday, October 28. The home performance on Friday will be "If the Show Fits."
