Washington Middle School Science, Leadership Teacher Logan Schamerloh Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Logan Schamerloh, science and leadership teacher at Washington Middle School, is the April recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift bag.
Schamerloh’s nomination form stated the following:
“Logan does so many amazing things for staff and students through leadership class. She has held multiple luncheons with donations from the community for the teachers. Students learn how to serve, plan, and budget for events. They get to plan all of our school wide activities such as Cupid Craze and run the Blue Jay Brew each morning. She has developed the Junior Flock student pep section at home games, is the STUCO sponsor, yearbook sponsor, high school softball coach, and trivia night chair. She strongly believes in a strong culture of caring and involvement at the middle school level. She is always willing to step in when needed and puts the students first in being an active part of their school day. Logan goes above and beyond with pride and shows it as a lifelong Blue Jay every day. She is very deserving of the Blue Jay Pride award.”
Schamerloh was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. She also received a gift bag from the Bank of Franklin County, represented by Becky Buhr.
