Washington High School athletes from the boys and girls wrestling teams along with the girls swimming team have qualified for the MSHSAA Championships.
Girls Swimming
The Lady Jays will compete in five events at the Girls Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday-Saturday, February 17-19, at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters.
Representing Washington will be sophomores Ava Kauffeld in the 200 IM and 100 Breast and Zoey Ziegler in the 100 free and 100 back, and the 200 Medley Relay team of junior Ellie Williams, sophomore Maddy Henderson, Kauffeld and Ziegler.

Girls Wrestling
Five Lady Jays advanced to the MSHSAA Wrestling Championships scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, February 17-19, at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
Representing Washington at the girls state wrestling meet will be Annelise Obermark, Julia Donnelly, Shelby Whitacre, Kendra Bliss and Paytin Welsh.

Boys Wrestling
Competing at the MSHSAA Class 3 District 1 Tournament in Farmington on Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12, six Blue Jays qualified to the MSHSAA Wrestling Championships by placing in the top four of their respective weight classes.
The state wrestling tournament is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, February 17-19, at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
Representing Washington at the boys state wrestling meet will be Gavin Holtmeyer, Casey Olszowka, Couper Deckard, Parker Kelpe, Devon Deckelman and Joey Avitia.
Holtmeyer, a senior, is now a four-time state qualifier, a two-time district champion, and will be looking for his third career state medal after capturing the district title at 285 pounds with a 4-0 district record, improving to 34-2 on the season.
Olszowka, a sophomore, placed second at 152 pounds with a 3-1 district record, improving to 34-7 on the season.
Deckard, a sophomore, placed third at 113 pounds with a 4-1 district record, improving to 24-14 on the season.
Kelpe, a junior, placed fourth at 106 pounds with a 3-2 district record, improving to 23-12 on the season.
Deckelman, a junior, placed fourth at 126 pounds with a 3-2 district record, improving to 33-9 on the season.
Avitia, a senior, placed fourth at 195 pounds with a 3-2 district record, improving to 27-12 on the season.
Also competing for the Blue Jays at the district tournament were Will Kelpe (120 pounds), Tristen Koehmstedt (132), Jackson Thornton (138), Brady Morgan (145), Brendin Voss (160), Ryan Mueller (170), Owen Burge (182) and Tanner Schwoeppe (220).
