Washington Middle School held its spelling bee on Friday, January 28.
Language Arts teacher Karen Bruning served as coordinator of the spelling bee, with the help of Library Media Specialist Valerie Jankowski.
The final online spelling bee consisted of 31 students who won their classroom level spelling bell, which qualified them for the final.
Nathan Oreskovic was the eighth-grade winner of the spelling bee. Jackson Laubinger was the winner of the seventh-grade spelling bee. Both Oreskovic and Laubinger spelled 26 of 30 words correctly.

8 Jay: Jacey Bowers, Eva Lohmeyer and Dayton Griesheimer.
7 Blue: Emma Huffman, Summer Day, Daniel Peters, Kathleen Strubberg, Jack Fuse, Rielynn Murphy and Evelyn Pape.
7 White: Brooke McColloch, Jackson Zweifel, Hope Simpson, Joshua Eyer, Celia Dieckhaus and Lainey Ahal.
8 Blue: Carter Schulte, Abby Blackwell, Leila (Leo) Scarborough, Ava Stone, Christian Potter and Jaelyn Bergin.
8 White: Cynthia Bade, Grace Gargrave, Peter Bush, Teaguen Riley, Lexus Henderson and Nathan Oreskovic.
