Competing at the MCCA (Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association) State Competition Saturday, Nov. 16, at Lindenwood University, the Washington High School varsity squad captured second-place honors in the Class 4 Large Division.
“The varsity cheer team had their best performance when it mattered, on the competition floor. We were the only team in our division that did not drop a stunt or receive any deductions, which is a major feat. Grain Valley only beat us out on difficulty,” said WHS Cheer Coach Katelyn Huber. “I am so proud of how they turned this routine around from regionals. They worked tirelessly in the three weeks between regionals and state and that hard work paid off.”
All-state performers were Allison Wilson, Haylee Page, Ella Barton and Lindsey Titter.
