The School District of Washington’s Board of Education walked through Washington High School for a guided tour to see room reorganizations and summer projects that have been completed on Friday morning, Aug. 31.
Joining the Board of Education members on the tour were School District of Washington Superintendent Dr. Lori VanLeer, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Brendan Mahon, Director of Buildings and Grounds Kevin Hunewill, Washington High School Principal Dr. Kelle McCallum and Assistant Principal Shawn Wallace.
The tour consisted of many stops along the way:
*Weight Training room moved to the former Metal Shop Room;
*Metal Shop classroom moved to the Agriculture Mechanics classroom - they are sharing the space as classes are offered different hours;
*Wrestling Room moved to the former Woodworking Classroom;
*Woodworking classroom moved to the former weight training room;
*No Excuses classroom moved to the former wrestling room;
*Project Lead the Way Engineering moved to the former No Excuses classroom;
*Health classroom moved to the former PLTW Engineering room;
*Woodworking and metal shop classroom space (different from shop space) moved to the former Health classroom.
“Our goal is for the rooms to all provide an improved classroom experience for our students,” McCallum said.
