Washington High School wrestler Jackson Thornton is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Thornton, a senior, claimed the 165-pount title at the Gateway Athletic Conference Tournament, his third individual title of the season. He also won titles at the Raytown South and Hallsville Tournaments.
Since winning the individual crown at the Raytown South Holiday Tournament, Thornton, a team captain, has gone undefeated and currently is on a 14-match winning streak.
