Friends and Family of Evan McKeever Donation Drive to Benefit WHS Life Skills Class
The group “Friends and Family of Evan McKeever” holds an annual donation drive in his memory.
Evan, a Washington High School graduate, passed away in September of 2018 at the age of 21 after a courageous battle with cancer and juvenile diabetes.
This year, the donation drive has chosen the Washington High School Life Skills class to benefit from his memory.
Until Evan’s birthday on March 10, people are able to click on an Amazon link (see the link below) and purchase selected items to benefit the students in the Life Skills classroom. Items will be delivered to Evan’s parents and they will deliver them to WHS at the conclusion of the drive.
The donation drive is in the memory of Evan McKeever, supported by Friends and Family of Evan McKeever.
Click here for the link to the Like Skills’ Amazon wish list. Many of the items listed will help the Life Skills students continue to operate the Cocoa Café.
WHS students and teachers alike rush to the Cocoa Cafe each morning in search of a quick drink or a snack before class. A greeter stands by the door, welcoming guests as the rest of the Life Skills students work in the kitchen, taking orders and preparing coffee and snacks.
The money students and staff spend at the Cocoa Cafe is donated to several charities, such as Loving Hearts.
