FRCC Engineering Students Participate in Catapult Demonstration

Engineering students in Nick Straatmann’s class at Four Rivers Career Center had a catapult demonstration on Monday, December 7. Students researched, designed, and constructed siege machines with the help of the Building Trades and Machine Tool programs.

The students demonstrated how their designs worked by launching clementines at targets on the FRCC campus. Students from other programs were on hand to watch the demonstration.

“The project involved collaboration with multiple programs, and it was neat to see the students' creations in action,” Straatmann said.
