Washington Middle School held its spelling bee on Friday, Jan. 10.
Language Arts and Challenge teacher Stefanie Virgen served as the moderator for the spelling bee, which took place in the library. The entire student body and faculty had a chance to watch it in their respective classrooms on Zoom.
Will Schenk, a seventh-grade student, was the winner of the spelling bee. Ada Montgomery, an eighth-grade student, was the runner-up.
Schenk will represent Washington Middle School at the Regional Spelling Bee at East Central College this spring.
