Marthasville Elementary held its Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Staff and students honored and paid tribute to United States Veterans.
Veterans were treated to breakfast prior to the assembly. They then proceeded to the gymnasiums, led by the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scouts presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The national anthem was sung by members of the Washington High School Choir.
Marthasville students grades K-6 performed a number of patriotic songs under the direction of Marthasville music teacher Melissa Nobel.
Washington High School freshman Leah Wheeler performed "Taps."
Following the assembly, Marthasville students lined the hallways and shook hands with the Veterans as they made their way out.
