Washington High School varsity volleyball is off to a fast start to the 2023 season.
The Lady Jays own an 8-3-1 record following a thrilling five-set home victory over Ft. Zumwalt East on Tuesday, September 12.
Washington has wins this season over North Point, Owensville, Holt, Pacific, Liberty, Union, St. Clair and Ft. Zumwalt East.
When postseason rolls around, Washington has been assigned to Class 4 District 2 at Webster Groves with Lutheran South, Pacific, Parkway West, Rockwood Summit, Visitation, Windsor and Webster Groves.
The Lady Jays are coached by Olivia Strode and assisted by Lindsay Moritz, Melissa Holtmeyer, Alicia Feldmann and Ryan Maune.
Varsity team members are seniors Abi Gilliatt, Emily Chappius, Jillian Huellinghoff, Meredith Duncan, Madison Moore, Sydney Harbath, Cierra Murrell, Olivia Zastow and Kiera Pelster, juniors Kelsey Brueggemann, Bri James, Josie Kluesner, Emily McCormack and Liberty Cragun, and sophomore Mya Buhr.
