Labadie Elementary held its spelling bee on Tuesday, March 12.
A select group of students participated in the spelling bee, which took place in the gymnasium with other students and teachers looking on.
Mason Raney, a fourth-grade student, was the winner of the spelling bee. Amelia Heimos, a sixth-grade student, was the second-place finisher.
Raney will represent Labadie Elementary at the Regional Spelling Bee at East Central College later this spring.
Also participating in the spelling bee were Kennedy Law, Oliver Riley, Cash King, Max Martin, Elise Hensley, Jonathon Ortiz and William Helfers.
