Washington High School varsity boys basketball opened action at the Union Tournament on Tuesday, January 23.
The sixth-seeded Blue Jays lost a back-and-forth game to third-seeded Rockwood Summit, 58-52.
Washington held a slim fourth-quarter lead, but the Falcons made big shots down the stretch to secure the victory.
Adyn Kleinheider led Washington in the contest with 25 points. Jaden Grosse added 14 points.
The Blue Jays continue Union Tournament action with games on Thursday, January 25, and Saturday, January 27. They have home games against Holt on Tuesday, January 30, and Friday, February 2, against Ft. Zumwalt East for Courtwarming.
Washington Head Coach Grant Young currently has 132 career wins at WHS, placing him in a first-place tie with Greg Dunigan for most wins in program history. Young has 385 career wins overall.
