Parent-teacher conferences in the School District of Washington are scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 24. It will be a
modified day for students.
The following two days, Thursday, Oct. 25, and Friday, Oct. 26, there will be no school for students.
Thursday, Oct. 25, is a professional development day for staff and no school for students. There will be no school for students and staff on Friday, Oct. 26.
The procedures for the parent-teacher conferences are as follows:
Elementary schools: Parent-teacher conferences will take place at their respective schools from 1-7 p.m. If you haven’t scheduled an appointment, please contact your child’s teacher. Clearview parents should contact the office to make an appointment.
Washington Middle School: Parent-teacher conferences will take place in the middle school gymnasium from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to pick up their child's report card and visit with their teachers. All of the teachers will be stationed in the gymnasium. Appointments are not necessary.
Washington High School: Parent-teacher conferences will take place at the high school from 2:30-7 p.m. Teachers will be in their respective classrooms ready to meet with parents. Appointments are not necessary. If parents want to set up a specific time, they can contact the teacher.
Additionally, the movie Angst will be shown in the CJB Theater at 6 p.m. The movie discusses and explores anxiety from a child, teen and young adult perspective and provides causes, effects and coping strategies. The parent/community showing is 56 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer discussion with mental health professionals in the field. Any parent, student and community member is welcome to attend the 6 p.m. showing. The movie will be shown to WHS students during the day on Oct. 24. Middle school students and sixth-grade students also will see the movie.
Four Rivers Career Center: Parent-teacher conferences will take place at the Four Rivers Career Center from 4-7 p.m. Teachers will be in their respective classrooms ready to meet with parents. Appointments are not necessary.
Early Learning Center: Parent-teacher conferences will take place throughout the day at the Early Learning Center. Parents must make an appointment with their child’s teacher.
