WHS Softball Player Grace Molitor Named Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week
Washington High School softball player Grace Molitor is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Molitor, a junior second baseman/shortstop, has been a huge contributor at the plate and in the field for the Lady Jays, who take a 34-1-1 record into Saturday’s Class 4 quarterfinal game at Cape Notre Dame.
Molitor has 64 RBIs on the season, which is a single-season school record. She owns a batting average of .534 (55 hits in 103 at-bats) with 10 home runs, 64 RBIs, 27 stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .616 and a slugging percentage of 1.000.
“Grace has propelled herself as one of the top middle infielders in the state,” said Washington Head Softball Coach Grant Young.
