Three individuals will vie for two open seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education during the upcoming April 6 election.
There are two incumbents and one newcomer who filed for the Board of Education. Filing closed on Tuesday, January 19.
Incumbents Kevin Blackburn and John Freitag, both of Washington, both filed on the opening day December 15.
Newcomer Spencer Nothum of Washington filed on the final day January 19.
Blackburn is completing his third term on the Board after first being elected in 2012. Freitag is finishing his second term after first being elected in 2015. Nothum is seeking his first term. Board members are elected to three-year terms.
The two board positions will be decided in the Tuesday, April 6, 2021, election. Voters will vote for two candidates.
