It was a perfect day for golf as the Washington High School boys squad hit the links against Ft. Zumwalt North at Wolf Hollow Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon, April 9.
Ft. Zumwalt North edged Washington in the varsity match, 181-190.
Golfers played the back nine holes at Wolf Hollow.
Washington was led by senior Nathan Blocker, who carded a nine-hole round of 44.
Landon Kleekamp, a sophomore, finished with a score of 45. Fellow sophomore Brennan Strubberg fired a 47.
Also playing for the Blue Jays in the varsity match were senior Alex Nettell, who posted a 54, and senior Braden Kazmaier, who carded a 58.
Scout Monzyk, a sophomore, played in the junior varsity meet for Washington.
Ft. Zumwalt North’s Kyle Seake was the meet’s medalist with a round of 37.
“Our scores are getting better across the board,” said Washington Golf Coach Tim Buschmann. “We have good senior leadership. Our goals are better in focus after some of our recent meets.”
