WHS Baseball Player Ryan Williams (KLPW), Track and Field Athlete Maddie Guevara (Missourian) Named Athletes of the Week
Washington High School baseball player Ryan Williams is the KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week.
Washington High School track and field athlete Maddie Guevara is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.
Williams, a junior outfielder, entered this week with a batting average of .324 (12 hits in 37 at-bats and 51 plate appearances) with 11 walks, six RBIs, eight runs scored, an on-base percentage of .500 and a slugging percentage of .378.
“Ryan has been outstanding this season,” said Washington Baseball Coach Dane Gough. “He’s contributed both on defense and at the plate.”

Guevara, a senior, recently broke two school records in both the shot put and the javelin.
At the Cape Central meet, Guevara threw the shot put 12.13 meters, winning the event and breaking Robin Sandbothe’s mark, which stood since 1979. She also broke her own record in the javelin and bettered her mark by nearly five feet.
Guevara was a medalist at both the Cape Central meet and the Don Olszowka Invitational at Union.
