Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for grades 4-6 in which teams are encouraged to read all 12 Missouri Mark Twain award nominees and then participate in the battle to see which team knows the most about the books.

All of the questions in the competition began with the words “In which book” and the correct answer always was the title.

The second-place team was Herd of Nerds from Labadie Elementary (Lily Otto, Zachary Bondor, Cody Raney and Caleb Pich).

The third-place team was Donut Stop Reading from Washington West Elementary (Molly Buchanan, Octavia Kluesner and Lillian McCleave).
