The School District of Washington’s BUILD (Building Unique and Innovative Learners by Design) Academy at Four Rivers Career Center continues to develop, make progress, and the students have begun their projects.
Sixth grade students from Washington West Elementary and Campbellton Elementary will spend six weeks in a project based learning environment, teaming with the FRCC team in the Junior Markerspace.
Throughout this process, students with start a business from the ground up. They will design business plans, market, build and sell.
Joe Callahan’s Project Lead The Way Engineering Capstone students (FRCC) are pictured below pushing into Lindsay Kober’s sixth-grade (Washington West) BUILD Academy classroom to discuss the structure of their dog house designs.
They shared with them the logical areas to begin the building process and also special notes to consider.
After much prep work, designing and safety, the sixth-grade students will begin building on Monday, Sept. 24.
