The Washington High School softball program recently made a donation of $500 to the United Way.
McDonald’s of Washington held a contest for customers in their restaurant on which WHS sports team was their favorite by placing a chip in their respective box on display.
The Washington softball team was the winner and received $500 from McDonald’s. The WHS softball program donated all of the money to the United Way.
Presenting the check to the WHS softball team was Deanna Frioli, McDonald’s Public Relations Specialist.
Representing the WHS softball program at the check presentation were Head Coach Philip King and students Gabbie Lindemann, Emma Winger, Maddie Holtmeyer, Denise Heggemann, Lexi Lewis, Kylie McDaniel, Madison Winer, Hanna Roady, Makenzie Feist, Loren Thurmon and Emma Riegel. Sophia Olszowka was not able to make the presentation, but was one of the main students involved with the project.
