Washington High School basketball player Todd Bieg is both the KLPW Radio and the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.
Bieg, a 6-6 junior forward, was named the Most Valuable Player of the 67th Annual Borgia Thanksgiving Tournament, helping the Blue Jays to the tournament championship.
Washington, seeded fourth, opened the tournament with a 54-46 victory over fifth-seeded Normandy and followed that with a 57-49 win over top-seeded Borgia in the semifinals.
In the championship game, the Blue Jays knocked off GAC Central foe and second-seeded Ft. Zumwalt North, 61-52.
Bieg played a major role with his presence inside the lane on both ends of the floor. He figures to be a key member of the Blue Jays’ squad this winter.
In the three games at the Turkey Tournament, Bieg averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game. He collected 15 points, nine rebounds and five blocks in the semifinal win over Borgia.
