Three individuals filed for three open seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education, meaning there will not be an election on April 4.
One incumbent and two newcomers filed for the Board, which closed on Tuesday, December 27.
Dan Leslie of Washington was the only incumbent to file. Incumbents Scott Byrne and Susan Thatcher will not seek re-election.
Filing on opening day were Bob Oreskovic of Washington and Rob Horvath of Labadie. Oreskovic served on the Board from 2017-20.
Leslie, Oreskovic and Horvath will be sworn into office during the Board’s re-organization meeting on April 18. Board members serve three-year terms. Leslie, currently the Board President, will begin his second term on the board.
Byrne is completing his fifth term on the Board after first being elected in 2008. Thatcher is completing her third term on the Board after first being elected in 2014.
