The Washington Police Department will host a Dine to DARE event on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 5-8 p.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Washington.

DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is an education program that seeks to prevent the use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior.
The main event on the night will be a Wings Challenge, which is a wings eating contest between Detective Nathan Pinter and Officer Dave Burke.
The five-minute wings eating contest will begin at 5:30 p.m.
