Washington High School celebrated National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Week February 22 through March 4.
Some days were missed due to snow days and rescheduled for the following week.
Chris Dunard, WHS Agriculture Education instructor and FFA adviser, and his students participated in activities at WHS.
Tuesday, February 22
Zach Straatmann visited first, second and third hours to talk about his role at Bayer and how he got to this position. He also talked about the use of drones in agriculture. Fifth, sixth and seventh were visited by Hannah Shanks, State FFA Vice President. She had the kids participating in leadership activities.
Wednesday, February 23
Official Dress Day - Students wore their Official FFA Dress to school to show their pride in their organization.
Cherry Pie Day - Students brought Cherry Pie to school to be shared with supporters and sponsors as well as faculty and staff at WHS.
The FFA Officers also attended the Washington Optimist Club meeting for lunch and spoke to them about what do in Agriculture and future plans.
Tuesday, March 1 (Rescheduled from Thursday)
Faculty, Staff, and FFA Member BBQ: FFA members planned, prepared, and served a BBQ lunch to WHS, Four Rivers Career Center, and maintenance staff for supporting their program.
Friday, March 4 (Rescheduled from Friday)
Tractor Safety and Farm Animal Petting Zoo: Students who met the requirements brought their tractors or farm animals to school.
