Loren Thurmon
Loren Thurmon, a junior outfielder, has been one of the team’s hottest hitters in recent games. Last week, she was 6-7 at the plate for a .857 batting average.
For the season, Thurmon has 11 hits in 18 at-bats for a .611 batting average.
“Loren is a great example of a team player. She has not always gotten the playing time she was expecting. However, she is always happy and cheering on her teammates,” said Washington Softball Coach Philip King. “Loren has been battling an ankle injury, which has limited her. We’ve had to pinch run for her when she reaches base to protect her ankle, but she has always been OK with the situations she has been put into.”
Washington had a record of 13-5 entering the week.
