Washington Native, Blue Angels Executive Officer Commander Bryce Aubuchon Visits SDOW Leadership Team
Commander Bryce Aubuchon was a special guest during the School District of Washington Leadership Retreat at Washington High School on Friday, June 7.
CDR Aubuchon, a Washington native, has fulfilled his ultimate childhood dream by being a member of the Blue Angels, the Navy’s premiere Flight Demonstration Squadron.
The theme of the Leadership Retreat is aviation with a focus on precision leadership from the Thunderbird and Blue Angels flying teams. SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart reached out to CDR Aubuchon with their show in St. Louis on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9. He graciously moved his schedule around to meet with the SDOW team to discuss leadership, teamwork, and the qualities of the Blue Angels team.
Aubuchon as the executive officer of the Blue Angels for the 2024 and 2025 show seasons. He was born and raised in Washington, graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Marketing. In 2006, after working in the civilian world as a physician recruiter, he attended Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Fla., and was designated a Naval Aviator in July of 2008.
Aubuchon joined the Blue Angels in September, 2023. He has accumulated more than 3,100 military flight hours around the world to include over 2,300 Pilot-in-Command and more than 1,300 hours of aircraft instructor time across three platforms. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, three Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various personal, unit and service awards.
Aubuchon admires the Blue Angels for how professional every member is and how much they apply themselves to the team.
According to the Blue Angel’s website, their mission is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to the country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.
