Nolan Crawford, Elementary School Resource Officer for the School District of Washington, is the January recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift bag.
Crawford’s nomination form stated the following:
“In my six years in the BASE program, I have come to meet many SROs (School Resource Officer) that have worked for the School District of Washington. Officer Crawford represents what it means to be a role model. He is constantly trying to help anyone and everyone who needs it. He remains calm in the most stressful situations and offers help not only to students in need, but to staff when they need it. Officer Noland does not keep his help only to keeping staff and students safe, he wants to do whatever he can to help another. No matter the size of the task, Officer Noland is always willing to help. He is a celebrity when it comes to the students. He can be found talking with students in the hall, encouraging them to have a great day in the mornings, or playing tag out at recess. He is no doubt the best recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.”
Crawford was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. He also received a Fas-Trip gift card from First State Community Bank. Representing First State Community Bank was John Freitag.
